Team Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategy for increasing the level of interest in this team both inside your school and within the entire community (a.k.a. building buzz about the team).
Plan, organize and promote special event(s) designed to draw more fans to the team’s games.
Create materials and copy for Web site-based promotions of the team.
If advertising is sold or bartered at the team’s eCommSports Web site, this team will be responsible for preparing and presenting the ad sales pitch to local businesses.
Primary Team Tasks
Create a marketing slogan or theme for this campaign.
Develop Web site ads, morning announcement script, posters, table tents, etc. that incorporate the slogan
Make sure that the above items are strategically distributed throughout the team’s eCommSports Web site, in your school, and around your community.
Write and distribute an initial press release describing the project your class is involved in and announcing its goals.
Plan and organize a fan participation activity or contest (i.e. team fan club, half court shot contest, halftime talent show, prize drawings, free give-away, concert before and after the game, etc) designed to help attract more fans to the team’s home games. Make sure you promote this event with a press release, Web site ads, morning announcement inserts, posters, etc.
Do an e-mail newsletter to the people who sign up for the fan club at the eCommSports Web site.
